What’s Taught?
The core of the material taught, shared, discussed, and pondered during a Line of Departure seminar includes:
Encounter God’s Love
The first session—and really the whole weekend—is about encountering God and his love. We look at how God’s love is expressed to us, and how we should respond to God’s love.
See People through Jesus’ Eyes
How does God see people? Session two is about seeing people the way Jesus does. When we really see the way Jesus sees, then serving is a normal, natural way of being.
Care through Listening and Learning
In session three, we explore the fact that people around us are best influenced through true friendship. They need to be heard and understood, so God’s people must be loving listeners.
Connect with God’s Community
God has a special relationship with his people. He relates to his people as family, calling them his children. In session four, we will look at what it means to have such an unusual and privileged identity so that we fulfill the unique role he designed us to play.
Share God’s Truth
There are two things necessary for sharing God’s truth. In session five, we will look at exactly what the gospel message is and how we can effectively share that message with the world.
